The event will start at 6:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM. The formal program will commence around 7:30 PM.
-
Attire for the evening is business smart. We will have a self-service coat check available.
-
NoMa-Galludet U is the closest metro station to the event venue, which is located in DC’s Union Market neighborhood. The specific location will be shared with event attendees ahead of time. The area is also accessible via bus.
If you choose to drive, Tzedek DC will offer complimentary valet parking for those who choose to drive. Valet service will station right outside the event.
-
Registration will take place just inside the entrance to Dock 5.
Physical tickets will not be provided. Simply check in at the registration desk inside Dock 5 when you arrive. If you submitted your guest names for your tickets in advance, we will have name badges for each guest ready when you arrive on-site. If not, don’t worry—we can print badges upon arrival.
-
Upon check-in, you will receive your name badge and a printed program. Inside the program will be a ballot to place your vote for your favorite dish. Please visit each chef station to try their dish and the attendant will check off your ballot to indicate you’ve completed a tasting. Once you have chosen your favorite dish, you can vote by placing your ballot into the ballot box located at your preferred chef’s station!
-
Absolutely! There will be donation cards available for you to fill out at the event and an opportunity for text-to-give donations as well.
-
As an annual fundraiser for the organization, Tzedek DC brings together renowned chefs from the DC area to compete in creating crowd-pleasing versions of a classic Jewish-inspired dish. This year is the ninth year the event is taking place! DC chefs will compete to create the best delicacy, decided by a popular vote from attendees and a verdict from the judges.
-
Drawing from the Jewish teachings of “Tzedek, tzedek tirdof,” or “Justice, justice you shall pursue,” Tzedek DC’s mission is to safeguard the legal rights and financial health of DC residents with low incomes dealing with the often devastating consequences of abusive debt collection practices and other consumer related issues.
-
The safety and security of our guests is a number one priority for Tzedek DC. To ensure a safe and secure environment, Tzedek DC has engaged a security team that will be present throughout the venue and for the duration of the event.
We also ask that attendees to refrain from sharing the event venue outside of their guests or share the location on social media.
Lastly, please ensure that you bring a photo ID so that our registration team can verify your name as an invited guest when you arrive.
